Machine Learning Generalist.

I have a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Bristol supervised by Dr. Ryan McConville. I examined the influence of inconsistent evaluation practice, showing how evaluations can misrepresent algorithm performance. This means that I spent years comparing models against one another and figuring out the tricks for hacking performance.

I've taught Coding, AI, Maths, Data and Modelling to undergraduate students. This was fun. You go from a problem and clueless students and end up with some sort of vague solution with overconfident students. Solving real-world problems is diffcult but we taught the basic skills of: understanding a problem in terms of solution requirements; doing some research for similar solutions; formulating the framework for a solution; coding up the solution; writing a report and presenting it to external stakeholders.

I am now an ML Engineer at OKKO Health. We do remote patient monitoring for patients with AMD macular degeneration. I take the data that we collect and produce models that predict early degeneration of disease.
